Windy Wellington

Wellington, New Zealand - Day 7

Wellington is a pretty cool city, it has waterfront markets, buskers, and beautiful coastal views. Well, it does if the city is not getting monsoon level, torrential rain. Unfortunately for us, that is exactly what we were getting. Protected by raincoats, Katie and I took a stroll through the waterfront before finding Cuba street, which is a hip downtown area with loads of shops and restaurants. Soon we came across "Fidel's" and had some lunch, sharing a small apricot, chicken, and cream cheese pizza and a Cubano sandwich (pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard mayo on grilled bread). Said goodbye to our friend Fidel, and managed to do some shopping before retreating to our AirBnB to wait out the rain. The weather finally calmed down a little after 5 PM, but by then all the shops had closed. Katie and I did make it out one last time, walking back through Cuba street and the waterfront, enjoying some Italian for dinner along the way.
