Bahama Mama
Baha Mar
For the fourth time, my company flew me and Katie out for an all expenses paid (as long as you budget appropriately), beach side, resort vacation. This time the destination was to the island of Nassau in the Bahamas. It's a rather quick trip as we flew in on a Friday afternoon and left early Sunday morning. Since time is so sparse on these trips, Katie and I have found we really like to keep plans to a minimum, and just try to relax. Our only real goal of the trip was to try a 'Bahama Mama' which is a drink made of rum, rum with coconut flavoring, grenadine, orange and pineapple juice, and crushed ice (we love the show "Scrubs" and in one episode Bob Kelso orders about 10 of them). We managed to achieve this lofty goal on the last day of our trip, enjoying two 'Bahama Mamas' on the sandy beach. This was the first company trip that didn't go to an all inclusive resort and we were given a $1,000 (that and the prices below are USD!) to spend on food/beverages. Since the restaurants and the meals were such a big part of the trip, I have listed them down below. The rest of the weekend we spent near the water, listening to the waves crash (trying to ignore the party music), watching a couple sea turtles search for food (while also trying to avoid all the boats and water sport traffic), and enjoying each others company (while trying to avoid about seven hundred co workers). Katie and I did enjoy running into my teammates and hearing about their adventures, catching up with Shane and Debbie over a delicious sushi dinner, and visiting with my sister Kelly and brother in law Sean while having quiet(ish) lunch by the water.
