Fleeing the Basement of Dispair

Hólmavík, Iceland - Day 12

I try really hard and spend a great deal of time on planning these trips, but sometimes I fail. And on this one I failed hard. The Westfjords are a beautiful region of Iceland where a great portion of the land is wild and the population of man is low. I had a hard time finding ANY available AirBnB, let alone a cute one in this region so I had settled on the place which we arrived last night...for four nights. Maybe it was because we were coming from Akureyri, a town we loved and a luxurious accommodation, but we wanted to leave almost as soon as we got there. To make matters worse, not only did I fail on this place, but I also failed to realize that to get anywhere we wanted to go in the Westfjords was going to take a full day of driving. like 5-8 hours of driving. Fortunately, we were able to cancel the following three nights and Katie saved our trip by finding another couple places to stay during the gap. On our way out of town, we stopped at the museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft. The journey to our next stop took us by a hot spring and a ship wreck.
