Horseback Riding in Wyoming

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming - Day 7

Today we munched on some breakfast of scrambled eggs and french toast, and then headed north to Teton Horseback Adventures. It was a little over an hour drive because it was mostly this tight, winding gravel road. We chose to do the "Little Pulpit" ride, which was a two hour round drip up to the Little Pulpit scenic observation point. I was given a young, black, large horse named Babe. She was sweet and for the most part liked to take it slow. Our guides name was Cam and he told us that Babe didn't like the mud and she would probably try to go around or run through it. Sure enough, when we got to a muddy stretch, she seemed to rush through it saying, "yuck, yuck, yuck." Katie's horse was white with big brown spots and named Calamity Jane. She liked to eat and gallop. We went through thickets, wide open fields, mud, stream crossings, and up and down some steep slopes. It was really fun and the view of the Teton range from Little Pulpit was amazing. After horseback riding, we made our way back to Jackson for dinner at the Town Center Tavern.
