Isle of Skye
Fort William, Scotland - Day 9
We woke up at our B&B which was right on a loch in the mountains. Today was supposed to be our second big hiking day, but the weather called for rain and we were told that it was -1°C at the peak on the sunny day before. Instead we drove north and explored the Isle of Skye. There we explored Eilean Donan castle, which turned out to be one of our favorites. It was destroyed in the 17 or 18 hundreds, but rebuilt between 1930-1950's. So inside, instead of being a ruin, it was a livable remake of a Scottish Castle. It is privately owned and the owner had pictures of her grandchildren in one part.
