The Blarney Stone

Cork, Ireland - Day 5

Today we did not wake up to a hearty breakfast. I woke Katie up and we rushed down stairs and grabbed the little remaining continental breakfast there was. A waitress came over and asked us if we wanted any hot breakfast. I asked if it was included in our room charge and she said that it wasn't. Not only that, but the continental breakfast was €8 a piece! That is like $18 for bread and apple juice (mostly because it stopped serving breakfast at 10am and we got there at 9:55). Anyways, after the breakfast fiasco of 2014, we packed up and headed to Blarney, where we had another delicious meal. We got this baked brie tartlet for a starter and a cottage pie for a main. The tartlet was especially scrumptious. After obtaining an acceptable level of blood sugar, we started our day of castles. First we went to Blarney castle and kissed the Blarney stone. After obtaining eloquent speech and the luck of the Irish, we drove up to the Rock of Cashel. There we got a guided tour. We ended our day in Dublin, where we stay for a couple nights.
