Cake Town

Cape Town, South Africa - Day 18

Katie and I woke up in a beautiful AirBnB in the amazingly picturesque Cape Town. Funny story: before we had started really planning our trip to Africa, Katie had followed this South African bakery named LionHeart. When we started figuring out what we were going to do and found ourselves in Cape Town, the home of LionHeart pâtisserie, we decided to order a cake! Katie got all the logistics taken care of (When to deliver the cake, where to deliver the cake, frosting color, etc), but we ran into an issue with payment. They only took SnapScan payments (South African Venmo). We reached out to our AirBnB host with an awkward question....'can you help us buy a cake??' The cake was delivered in the morning and we took an opportunity to do a photo shoot before heading out to Truth for breakfast where we fueled up on coffee. Afterwards we explored the V&A waterfront where we perused shops and enjoyed the aquarium. Katie and I gobbled up some amazing sushi before ending the day enjoying the view from our AirBnB and enjoying our fancy cake.
