Beach Bound

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico - Day 1

Katie and I have made our return to 'paradise.' Once again, my company surpassed its yearly goal and invited everyone and their spouse to an all inclusive resort in Mexico for three nights. This time we are in Playa del Carmin, just an interesting hour and change drive SW from the Cancun airport. Last time Katie and I went on the trip with no plan other than experiencing the resort and anything immediately nearby. This time we decided to get a car and make the trip our own. Driving in Mexico reminded me a bit of traffic in Thailand. For instance, on some parts of the highway the lane lines were not visible and a two lane road magically turned into three. On an intensity level though, the Mexican traffic we encountered was tame compared to the all out brawl on Thai roadways. Ultimately, we were happy on our decision to get a car (Black and white Fiat Palio). We ended the night with a rather tasty Japanese dinner and hit the sack with dreams of tomorrows wonders.
