Chiang Mai Zoo

Chiang Mai, Thailand - Day 8

We opted to sleep in a bit today before making our way to the Chiang Mai Zoo. After our songthaew driver dropped us off, we bough a ticket for everything (admission, aquarium, and panda exhibit are sold separately) and started out on what would be a hot and sweaty day. There were somethings we liked, some we disliked, and some we downright hated about this zoo. We liked that you could feed most of the animals. Katie and I fed elephants, hippos, and giraffes. Things we disliked were the fact that there were several closed exhibits and many aspects of the zoo seemed run down. We hated the fact that there was a road through the whole zoo. You shouldn't have to wait for traffic to cross the street inside a zoo! The penguin exhibit seemed especially run down and we felt really bad for the little guys. Back in town we headed out to find some dinner and found this really cool placed called the Hot Chili. Their fried wontons were delicious, favorite thing I've eaten so far.
